Riot Wine Club, the modern wine club
Monday, January 29th, 2007
Joshua Duyan, of the brand new Riot Wine Club based in California and New York, recently approached us about forming a beta partnership. He was excited about using Vinorati groups to facilitate communication among members of their wine club and we are completely psyched about having some direct feedback of the group functionality of our site. Seems like a great opportunity for both sides.
Riot Wine uses the help of various wine experts to find interesting wines from small wineries around the world and ships two bottles every month to their members. They have three levels of membership - $32, $47 and $64 - and members can easily switch from one to the other. These guys do not stop at picking out some nice wines and sending them to their members though, they are creating a hip ambiance that will help their members enjoy, communicate and learn about their wines. They send out beautiful (really) information cards with each wine, offer RiotWine music mixes for members to listen to, and specially created recipes to enjoy with their wine selections. Very cool.
The Vinorati Groups seem to fit in perfectly with Riot Wine’s philosophy of fostering communication with their members. Each month these Riot Wine members can see what their impatient counterparts think of the wines in their monthly shipments, and the Riot Wine founders likewise get immediate feedback on their wine selections. Once we get group forums up and running (Frederic tells me February 12th is his goal) members will also be able to directly share tips and information about their wines. This kind of information sharing has enormous potential to improve the wine club experience.
In January the Riot Wine 32 Club received…
and the Riot Wine 47 Club received…
and the Riot Wine 64 Club received…
Welcome to the Riot Wine Club members! We hope you enjoy using Vinorati to get even more out of your Riot Wine membership!
